Antique American Carousel Dog
Herschell-Spillman, New York, NY circa 1900
Herschell-Spillman dog, probably a retriever, made circa 1902 and used on a
portable steam-powered carousel which traveled the country. A similar example may be seen on page 88 of "Art of The Carousel" by Charlotte Dinger.
This figure is in very good condition and with old in use repaint. Approximate size: 55"L x 38"H x 10"W. Comes with a professionally made metal stand which disassembles. (Height on stand - approximately 52").
